The visit forms a part of a tour of different Spanish cities organized by Chinese Friendly International, with the aim of allowing the group’s members to get to know the destination so as to promote it in the Chinese market.
Only 0.25% of Chinese travellers chose Spain as a holiday destination in 2013. For this reason, the aim of the Dalian Wanda Group’s trip is to put Spain, together with its main cities and resources, on the Chinese tourism map.
The delegation was received by the President of the Senate, at the Ministry of Tourism, the local authorities of Segovia and Seville, the Community of Madrid, and representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of Andorra, and also had the opportunity of getting to know the cities of Santiago de Compostela, Saragossa and Murcia.
During their stay in Seville, the members of the delegation stayed at the Barcelo Sevilla Renacimiento, where they were given a tour of the hotel’s facilities and met with the managing director and the regional director of the Barcelo chain.
In Seville, the delegation also met with the representatives of 10 of city’s tourism, hospitality and service companies at the Chamber of Commerce, where they were given a presentation of their products and services.
