As in previous editions, ATI Eventos was commissioned to organize an education sector event as important as the 3rd School 2.0 Congress, which took place in Granada this October.
The Granada Congress Centre was the venue chosen to host more than 1,000 attendees, teachers and participants in the School 2.0 programme, including the heads of education of the country's autonomous communities and the representatives of companies related to CIT in education.
The event also had an exhibition area where companies showcased their latest products, featuring Samsung´s spectacular tactile screen, replacing the traditional blackboard, and Promician's digital blackboards which can be written on with different coloured markers.
Other companies present at the event included E-ducativa, Fonotex, Toshiba, Epson, Isotrol and Telefonica, which made the most of the opportunity to present products that can, and should, occupy a place in 21st century schools.
The event's digital classrooms – especially assembled for the occasion – hosted a large number of activities in which many experiences were shared. The event was also followed live by thousands of virtual attendees via video streaming, different forums and, of course, the social media such as Twitter, essential at an event of this nature, thus showing how social networks can be put to good use.
The closing keynote, given by Richard Stallman, was a clear sign of the commitment of both the Ministry of Education and the Andalusian regional government to ensuring that the new generations are not left behind and have access to quality technological education.
If the event made one thing clear then that is that blackboards will be a thing of the past at the schools of the future, where the new generation will be taught with laser pointers and computer technology.
