Apps every event planner needs

Planning a major event is never easy, with all the planning, coordination and organisation needed from everyone in the event team. Thankfully, modern technology and handy mobile devices are here to make these tasks a whole lot more manageable.

This is our list of favourite apps that make planning for an event efficient, effective and a whole lot more enjoyable.

Evernote

Hands down, the best note taking app in the market. Fast, powerful and really use to use, keep Evernote in your pocket (on your mobile phone) and whip it out any time a creative idea comes to mind, or you think of a new task that needs to be followed up on. Synchronise Evernote across your entire team’s mobile devices, so everyone stays informed.

Pinterest

When you need a dash of creative inspiration, Pinterest is the place to be. Possibly one of the most idea-filled locations on the internet, a visit to just a few of Pinterest’s nearly unlimited number of photo boards could be just what you need to think up that next big idea for an event theme, visual or engagement idea.

Dropbox

In just a few years, Dropbox has quickly risen to become the world’s leading cloud-based storage service for individuals, teams and businesses. With Dropbox, you and your team (or multiple teams) can create, access and edit files from your personal devices. Best of all, Dropbox integrates with Microsoft Office applications so you can edit documents directly from your mobile device, using the Dropbox app. Perfect for event planners who are on the go and need to get things done quickly and conveniently.

Hootsuite

If your event is on multiple social media platforms, managing them can be a hassle – unless you’re using Hootsuite. This innovative app helps you stay up to date with all the posting, tweeting and liking going on in your various social media channels. You can even schedule posts in advance, so you won’t have to be on social media all day, every day. (Although your audiences will think you are!)

Basecamp

Think of Basecamp as your team’s virtual office space. Here, you can set To-Do lists for every member of the team, organise calendars, plan schedules and so much more. This is possibly the easiest way for team leaders and members to stay up to date with what’s been planned, done and needs to be done – before, during and after the big event.
