Work on Antequera’s new trade show centre, which is due to start this coming September, will last 17 months, the completion deadline being February 2009.
With a budget of 9.9 million euros, 6.6 of which have been provided in equal parts by the regional government and Malaga’s Diputacion Provincial, the new venue, which will be called Isfera, will occupy a 60,000 square metre plot in the Antequera Business Park (PEAN).
The trade fair centre, which had been designed by Arkingenia with modern lines, will have an overall floor area of 12,500 square metres, 6,000 of which will be given over to exhibiting space and 3,000 to service areas, distributed on two floors.
Strategically placed town
It is hoped that Antequera’s trade show centre will be one of most profitable medium-sized venues in Andalusia. The town’s geographic position, together with one of the best communication networks and the recent coming into service of the high-speed train service (AVE), mean that Antequera is strategically placed a short distance away from the region’s eight provincial capitals and a few hours from Madrid. Additional inducements include the town’s splendid monuments and the outdoor activities available in the surrounding area.
