A year ago, Exploramas launched its "Commitment" project with the aim of improving the physical and social environment of the destinations where the company holds its corporate events.
Among the many actions that have been carried out within the framework of this project, a special mention should be given to the Annual Commitment Trip, whose destination this year was Morocco. The aim was to check the progress of several projects the company has started up in the country.
After a three-day trek over the Rif Mountains, the expedition arrived at a small hamlet, the home of several children that have lost their father – who was the family breadwinner. A year after his death, the family still has not found a way of subsisting.
Out of all the potential lines of action, Exploramas has chosen to carry out improvements on the family’s home so that they can offer accommodation to hikers, thus providing them with a source of income to help them make ends meet.
The idea behind this project is to gradually lay the foundations for the sustainable development of this exceedingly poor area, far removed from Northern Morocco’s popular tourist destinations.
During the end of 2008 and throughout 2009, Exploramas will be working on this project, welcoming all those people that would like to collaborate.
