Andalusian Advertising Drive in the States

The Andalusian regional government’s Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Sports plans to promote the region as a congress and meeting destination in the States in a series of seminars for 240 representatives of tour operators and specialised travel agencies.



The Motivation Show as a showcase

The seminar programme, entitled “An Andalusian Encounter”, which will be held in Chicago and Minneapolis from 25-28 September, coincides with the 34th edition of The Motivation Show (formally IT&ME), the largest incentive and meetings travel show in the world.



With the aim of making the most of the attendance of a large number of corporate meeting planners and other professionals involved in the planning conferences, meetings, incentive programmes, and special events, the regional ministry will be promoting Andalusia as an incentive destination, with special emphasis on golf and cuisine, at Turespaña’s stand.



The number of American tourists on the increase

With the number of tourists staying at Andalusian hotels (216,359) up 5.9% on last year’s figures for the first half, the American market has performed well in the first half of 2006. Likewise, overnight stays were up 3%, with an average stay of two nights.
