According to the results of the “Study on Business Tourism in Spain, conducted by Turespaña, Andalusia was ranked second in 2005 in the number of meeting and congress delegates held in Spain.
Second only to Madrid
With a share of 16.95% of the total number of meeting and congress delegates, Andalusia was second only to Madrid (18.12%), with Catalonia in third place (15.79%).
Third in the number of meetings
As regards meetings, Andalusia, with a 14.77% share of the total number of meetings, was ranked third, behind Madrid (20.71%) and Cataluña (14.92%).
Malaga in sixth position
As to cities, Malaga was ranked sixth in the number of congresses, conventions and seminars held during 2005, hosting a total of 124, behind Barcelona, Gijon, Madrid, Lleida and Palma de Mallorca.
