Marbella’s Aloha Golf Club, one of the Costa del Sol’s classic courses, will host the Valle Romano Andalusian Open, a PGA European Tour fixture, from 10-13 May.
Eight years later
The golf tournament, which was last held in Andalusia eight years ago, offers the region an excellent chance to gain a new foothold in the PGA European Tour, while at the same time promoting the regional golf industry as “one of the most internationally known Andalusian tourist products”.
A million euros in prize money
In spite of the fact that the Valle Romano Andalusian Open – which is sponsored by Valle Romano, Turismo Andaluz and Vocento, and organised by Golf Accion and GFC Golf & Business, run by Miguel Angel Jimenez and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, respectively – will coincide with an top tournament in USA, bringing together the 50 best players in the world, champions such as Björn, Westwood and McGinley, and the Spanish players Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, Alejandro Cañizares and Alvaro Quiros will all be competing at Aloha Golf.
