AlhondigaBilbao participated in the Prague Quadrennial International Exhibition of Scenography and Theatre Architecture, held from 16-26 June.
In addition, AlhondigaBilbao participated in the scenography section with the screening of two documentaries featuring the venue's atrium and columns. The first documentary, entitled "One day in AlhondigaBilbao," tells the story of a normal day at the centre, from when it opens at 7am to when it closes at midnight, showing the different uses to which each visitor puts the facilities.
Furthermore, those visiting the Cervantes Institute in Prague had the opportunity of viewing – in the framework of the quadrennial's programme – "43 colonne in scena a Bilbao," a documentary directed by Leonardo Baraldi about the process of creating the pillars sustaining the atrium's three cubes.
Besides AlhondigaBilbao, the Spanish stand also showcased a number of other architectural projects. Along the lines of human work keyed to expression, this year six renovation projects of working environments – such as factories, warehouses, barracks, etc. – now given over to culture and the arts, were presented: Naves del Matadero (Madrid); Centro Parraga (Murcia); AlhondigaBilbao (Bilbao); Coma Cros (Girona); Navalmoral de la Mata Theatre (Caceres); and Naus de Sagunt (Valencia).
