The forum "Tradeshows in Spain: Economic Impact and Importance of Tradeshow Centres" is an event promoted by the provincial government of Cordova, Cordova City Council and the Association of Tradeshow Organizers of Cordova, with the aim of analyzing the trends and business outlook and vindicating their revitalizing role in local economies.

The Andalusian Association of Congress and Tradeshow Centres (AFCAN), through its president Yolanda de Aguilar, director of the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre, participated at the beginning of last week in the forum "Tradeshows in Spain: Economic Impact and Importance of Tradeshow Centres," so as to present her vision of the current state of affairs in the tradeshow market. De Aguilar coincided with the rest of the experts present on the importance of tradeshows as promotional tools for the business fabric and economic development of local and regional economies.

Along these lines, the president de AFCAN, who shared the panel with Jose Antonio Vicente, president of the Spanish Tradeshow Association (AFE), and Alvaro Muñiz, director of the International Tradeshow Centre of Gijon, defended yet again the need to build a competitive Andalusian tradeshow agenda with a national and international scope, putting the accent on the strategic sectors of each region of Spain.

Likewise, she again highlighted the work carried out by specialized Andalusian centres so as adapt to new market demands, specifically focusing on quality through updating and maintaining facilities and procedures with the aim of bringing them into line with new quality, accessibility and environmental standards. Furthermore, she stressed the role of new technologies, a key factor that organizers and planners now take into account when choosing a venue.

The forum, which was held at the seat of the Provincial Government, also addressed marketing models and case studies, as well as tradeshow internationalization. Antonio Martin, director of R&D&I at IFEMA, Teresa Condom, director of market research and strategies at Fira de Barcelona, Mario Goffard, director of marketing and communication at Bilbao Exhibition Centre, and Juan Nieva, manager of the tradeshow centre of the provincial government of Ciudad Real, also contributed to the discussions with their expert opinions.
