AFCAN calls for joint promotional strategy for the sector and aid to maintain facilities

The Andalusian Association of Congress and Tradeshow Centres (AFCAN) held its annual assembly in Seville, in which the need for a joint strategy to promote Andalusia as a congress and meeting destination, in collaboration with the public administrations, was stressed. Likewise, the accent was out on the central role played by the region’s convention centres in the said promotion, given their specialized facilities and service providers, and institutional support to improve the preservation and maintenance of the buildings, a key aspect as regards their competiveness, was called for.



AFCAN held its annual assembly at the Seville Exhibition and Congress Centre (FIBES) with the main aim of developing lines of work during the coming months, a roadmap giving priority to discussions with the public administrations and benchmark trade organizations so as to design strategies geared to promoting Andalusia as a congress and meeting destination. Furthermore, AFCAN will insist of the need to search for ways of collaboration and support for the maintenance, preservation and improvement of existing facilities so that their obsolescence does not affect their competiveness. In this regard, convention and tradeshow centres are obliged to implement a permanent updating policy grounded on quality, accessibility and technology, among other aspects.
