In collaboration with the Malaga Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, AEHCOS participated in the International Travel & Tourism Exhibition 2008 (UITT), held in Kiev from 26-28 March 2008.
With an exhibition area of 11,000m2, the event’s 14th edition attracted 850 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors, of which over 8,000 were trade professionals. AEHCOS, together with eight hotel chains, showcased the Costa del Sol at its own stand.

AEHCOS organised the 19th Costa del Sol Hotel Industry Exhibition (EXPOAEHCOS 2.008), which was held at the Torremolinos Congress Centre from 2-4 April 2008.
Forum for Sewage Disposal on the Costa del Sol
The Forum for Sewage Disposal on the Costa del Sol held its sixth meeting on 1 April 2008.
During the meeting, the different actions that have been carried out since the forum’s creation in October 2007 were analysed, with the global aim of eradicating sea sewage disposal by 2012.
Hotel Occupancy on the Costa del Sol
According to figures obtained by AEHCOS (Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association), hotel occupancy in the province of Malaga reached 60.26% in March, down 2.22% on figures registered for the same month last year.
In March, hotels on the Costa del Sol registered a total of 1,407,321 overnight stays, down 45,513 on figures for March 2007. An occupancy rate of 53.34% is forecast for April.
The breakdown of the clients staying at hotels on the Costa del Sol during February 2008 by country of origin is as follows: Spain (37.90%), United Kingdom (29.91%), Germany (7.84%), Scandinavia (3.76%), Holland (3.09%), Canada (2.21%), and France (2.20%).
