On 11 December, AEHCOS held an extraordinary general meeting and its 33rd Networking Event at the Florida Spa Hotel en Fuengirola. A great number of members attended both events at this lovely venue to deal with different matters and for the purpose of networking.
The agenda included the approval of the financial results for 2007, the 2008 budget, the association’s participation the 2007 edition of the World Travel Market, and the action plan for 2008.
Likewise, the subject of sewage disposal on the Costa del Sol was brought up again, and the association stressed its determination to get those responsible to introduce measures to solve this urgent problem as soon as possible.
After the meeting, those present attended an exhibition organised by Indemar, a company specialising in interior design and furniture and one of AEHCOS’ collaborators, showcasing its products, production processes and showrooms.

Hotel Occupancy on the Costa del Sol Reached 51.94% in November 2007
According to figures obtained by AEHCOS (Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association), hotel occupancy in the province of Malaga reached 51.94%, corresponding to 1,165,253 overnight stays, up 2.75% on estimates for this month. An occupancy rate of 44.84% is forecast for December.
The breakdown of the clients staying at hotels on the Costa del Sol during October by country of origin is as follows: Spain (34.22%), United Kingdom (33.91%), Germany (6.87%), Scandinavia (4.06%), Belgium (3.99%), Holland (2.66%), and France (2.23%).
