On 13 July, Barcelona hosted the Holi Festival of Colours, a music festival inspired by an Indian celebration which filled Fira de Montjuic’s Plaza del Universo with colour and rhythm.
Eventisimo was the local agency commissioned to organize and produce the event, promoted by 42 Promotion, one of Germany’s leading marketing agencies, which has been handling campaigns for multinational brands since 2010.
Eventisimo obtained all the necessary permits from the different administrations, as well as handling A/V assembly and coordination, the installation of temporary structures, the coordination of security services, the running of the catering services, and the local sponsorship of the event.
All the 9,000 tickets for the Holi Festival of Colours Barcelona were sold in advance on the festival’s website and through its social media profiles, with over 48,000 Facebook fans in Barcelona alone.
The festival is inspired by the Hindu "Holi", the so-called festival of colours, which marks the beginning of spring. This festival was celebrated in Berlin in 2012 and in a short time it has caught on throughout Germany and Europe.
To the rhythm of Hindu-inspired electronic music, the participants pelted each other with brightly coloured powders, as a symbol of happiness, diversity and equality – an explosion of colour, music and joy which will undoubtedly continue to attract new fans during its word tour.
