The fair will be held from 1 to 3 November in person
London's World Travel Market (WTM) has unveiled the security measures it will implement for its next edition, which will be held in person from 1-3 November, followed by virtual events on 8-9 November.
"We look forward to welcoming visitors to the show as it's time for industry professionals to come together to do business in person as the sector recovers," said WTM London and Travel Forward exhibition director Simon Press.
According to Press, WTM will implement "greater hygiene and health protection measures" and create "the right environment for business to thrive". "The health and safety of visitors, exhibitors and staff will be our top priority and we will continue to issue updates to reassure delegates as we approach the show," he added.
WTM attendees will be required to present proof of vaccination or immunisation, or a PCR before entering the venue and cannot enter if they have symptoms related to the coronavirus. In addition, only pre-registered persons are allowed to enter the fair.
Attendees will be able to show their contactless badge, either on a smartphone or hard copy, and there will be no badge holders or lanyards. The fair strongly recommends the use of face masks, especially in enclosed or crowded spaces.
Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the venue and elbow greetings are suggested as an alternative to shaking hands or hugging.
Regular disinfection of spaces
In addition, the venue cleaning team has been trained to implement new procedures before, during and after the event, including regular disinfection of all touch points.
Finally, catering facilities will be opened in accordance with the latest government guidelines and cashless payments are encouraged. Exhibitors are reviewing stand layouts to avoid enclosed meeting areas and create a more open and airy space.
