IBTM has been officially granted preferred provider status from the Events Industry Council (EIC) for its Knowledge Programme at its new IBTM Wired event, which takes place online from 28 June to 1 July 2021.

Delegates attending the event can gain Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) points for each education session attended, depending on the length of the session, which will enable them to accrue up to 20 hours of continued education over the course of the four-day event.

IBTM Wired has partnered with leading international industry associations, visionaries and thought leaders to create a truly global four-day education programme. Each day will focus on a different region of the world, providing a packed schedule of live and on-demand education sessions open to both Hosted Buyers and visitors. From hybrid events and sustainability to women in leadership, technology, safety and trends, each day will provide valuable learning experiences, inspirational ideas and the sharing of best practices giving professionals the key tools they need for the next chapter in meetings and events.

Michael Jones, Event Manager, IBTM Wired, said: “The IBTM portfolio is renowned for the quality of its education, and we are delighted that IBTM Wired has been recognised by the EIC as a preferred provider. The event’s Knowledge Programme features diverse speakers, fresh ideas and a global perspective on the most pressing issues facing the industry right now, and the EIC accreditation provides a valuable additional benefit for our attendees.”

Amy Calvert, Chief Executive Officer, Events Industry Council said: “The pandemic has without doubt seen event professionals placing a renewed focus on personal development and learning, especially when it comes to up-skilling in the digital arena. It is critical that high quality education is available and easily accessible and IBTM continues to deliver inspiring and relevant training for its attendees. Our CMP programme has been running for more than 36 years and it is now globally recognised as a badge of excellence within the events industry. We are delighted to confirm IBTM as a CMP preferred provider and look forward to building on this exciting new partnership.”

Over 30 topical education sessions and four high-profile keynote speakers have been confirmed for the event. Keynote speakers include Stephen Attenborough, who leads commercial activity for Virgin Galactic, part of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group; Monique Morrow, Senior Distinguished Architect for Emerging Technologies at Syniverse Technologies and President and Co-Founder of the Humanized Internet; CNN contributor and Atlanta radio host, Aaron Paxton Arnold; and rocket scientist turned award-winning professor, number one bestselling author and internationally acclaimed speaker Ozan Varol.

IBTM Wired will unite professionals from across the world for four days of one-to-one business meetings, networking sessions and a programme of live and on-demand education sessions curated by sector, skillset, and geographic location. The event is a permanent addition to IBTM's global portfolio of B2B events and intelligence for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry.
