MADRID - With a focus on specialisation, business and professionalisation, the upcoming edition of FITUR, International Tourism Fair, organised by IFEMA, from the 22 to 26 January at Feria de Madrid, presents its greatly enhanced B2B meeting programs. These include the general meetings agenda, FITUR B2B Match, and the specialised meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, FITUR MICE, schedule. Both programs have proven to be an effective tool, concentrating a high business activity during the professional events at FITUR. Data from the latest edition show that there were a total of 9,150 B2B meetings with professionals from around the world.
The FITUR Match program, to be held on the 23 and 24 January, will put participating companies in contact with a total of 140 professionals -executives of travel agencies and tour operator companies- from both consolidated markets and from emerging areas, in the latter case with special presence from the MENA region, the Middle East and North Africa. FITUR has worked in collaboration with ETOA (European Tourism association) and the Latin American Communication Agency on this program, as well as through the IFEMA branches and Commercial Offices operating in over 28 countries.
Regarding meetings, incentives and business travel tourism, a business segment that is expanding and is key to the tourism industry, the specialised FITUR MICE program will bring together, on the 22 and 23 January, 100 representatives of the MICE tourism offer with 120 qualified procurement officers from around the world. This is a chance to establish efficient contacts, that are in alignment with this growth trend that finds in Spain one of its best references. After all, Spain holds the third position in the 2019 International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) ranking, with 595 international events, only behind the United States (947) and Germany (642).
Diversity and the new business niches will also be widely represented at FITUR through the various specialised sections, such as FITUR CINE/SCREEN TOURISM; FITUR FESTIVALS; FITUR GAY (LGBT); FITUR HEALTH; FITURTECHY, and FITUR KNOW HOW, and the new FITUR TALENT area, focusing on people, on their talent, skills and professional qualifications. On the other hand, the FiturNext Observatory continues its progress in identifying and choosing good practises to promote tourism with a positive impact throughout the world.
