The North American chain Hilton has invested 22 million euros in the complete renovation of the hotel, which opens its doors under the luxury brand Curio Collection by Hilton, with 177 rooms.
The North American chain Hilton has opened the Higuerón Hotel Málaga in Fuengirola, the third to open in Spain under the luxury brand Curio Collection, after the hotels in Barcelona and Ibiza.
And it has done so after investing 22 million euros to completely renovate all the facilities of the hotel, which has 177 rooms and is the only sustainable restaurant with a Michelin star in Malaga, overlooking the Mediterranean.
The hotel opened its doors on 6 June and will officially open on 27 June, when the new conference room with a capacity for 1,100 people will be in perfect condition. The renovation of the old hotel Reserva del Higuerón has been total, from the rooms to the common areas.
The hotel opens with the philosophy of combining luxury, gastronomy and art. The hotel opens like an art room, with works by masters such as Tapies, Rivera or Lita Cabellut, but also by local artists such as Enrique Brinkmann. Precisely the painter from Malaga has ceded several paintings and lithographs that decorate each and every one of the rooms and the exhibition of works of art that runs through all the rooms of the hotel and that will be renewed every six months, Dámaso Ruano being the artist planned for the next exhibition.
The Higuerón Hotel Málaga even has 24 panoramic suites with balconies and terraces with glass panels overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, offering 360º views.
In March of next year, Higuerón Hotel Málaga will open a third tower with 113 new suites, of superior category, most of them of 40 square meters, with which the hotel will reach 290 rooms.
"Malaga is one of the most popular European destinations, with 12.5 million tourists who came to its sunny shores last year," according to EMEA Hilton President Simon Vicent. "With 1 euro for every 7 euros generated from tourism in Spain, we are excited to expand our portfolio by 50% over the next three to five years.
Gastronomy
With six different restaurants and bars, guests will be able to taste all kinds of local products and recipes.
The star is undoubtedly the restaurant Sollo, by Diego Gallegos, with a Michelin star, which serves innovative dishes based on river fish and caviar, all grown in-situ in the hotel's own hydroponic farm.
For a more relaxed atmosphere, the hotel offers the La Higuerita snack bar, with light meals and a selection of seasonal dishes of local origin. And for those seeking rest after a long day at the beach or exploring the city, the Infinity Rooftop Pool Bar and the Austin Bar offer a relaxed and relaxed atmosphere: a great way to end the night after a delicious dinner.
The Higuerón Hotel Málaga has a spa with state-of-the-art treatment rooms and hydrotherapy cabins, an 800-square-metre gymnasium with the latest technology in sports machinery, open 24 hours a day, and tennis and paddle tennis courts, as well as sand facilities for playing volleyball or beach football.
The hotel has four swimming pools, including a rooftop Infinity pool overlooking the bay of Fuengirola and the Mediterranean Sea and in 2020 will open the hotel's beach club.
