The representatives of the Area of Tourism go to this appointment of the hand of the Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Malaga (Fycma). Both will share a counter in the workspace of Andalusia, within the exhibitor of Turespaña. During the exhibition will maintain an intense program of professional meetings with the aim of attracting the celebration of new congresses and events to Malaga.
Waiting for those to be arranged at the fair itself, the pre-established agenda exceeds twenty meetings with scientific societies and international agencies specializing in the organization of events, as reported by the City Council in a statement.
They will also make two presentations of the destination of the city of Malaga addressed mainly to businessmen and professional organizers of congresses, who will be introduced to the tourist offer of Malaga city, its spaces and distinctive experiences for holding all kinds of professional conferences.
In parallel, the Convention Bureau will participate in events organized by Spanish entities and professional associations of which it is a member, such as the International Congress and Conventions Association (ICCA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
This Monday, precisely before the beginning of the fair, it participates in Association Evening, the meeting of the associative segment organized by ICCA. More than 250 associations from the five continents are expected to participate in this first major event. They are in charge of taking decisions for the celebration of congresses and meetings.
In addition, Malaga will be present on Tuesday at Spain Night, an event organised by the Spanish Tourist Office (OET) in Frankfurt, which takes place at the Instituto Cervantes and is attended by professionals from the congress segment from all over the world.
On Wednesday, the Malaga delegation attends the ICCA Member Networking Reception, a meeting of the ICCA association to which the technicians of the Convention Bureau come with the aim of creating contacts, strengthening relationships and generating synergies.
From Fycma have highlighted that last year were held in the enclosure twice as many international events with respect to the previous year, which already account for 20 percent of the total number of congresses, conventions, conferences and other events it hosts. For example, the European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC 2018), Fiware Global Summit or EOSC-hub week 2018 took place.
The celebration of events of this type is growing at a good pace during this year with calls such as the Biennial Conference of the International Biogeography Society held last January. In the coming months Fycma will host meetings such as the European Parking Congress, the International Congress of Hydrogeologists, the International Congress of Technology and Tourism for All or the World Blockchain Congress, among others.
