Palladium Hotel Group, NH Hotel Group and Sixt Rent a Car have been awarded as the best stands in the category of companies in the Fitur 2019 Awards, which distinguish the best companies, products and the best research work related to tourism at the last International Tourism Fair, held in Madrid last January.
In the category of institutions and autonomous communities, the awarded stands were those of the Canary Islands, Turismo Navarra and Catalonia, while in the category of countries, the prizes for the best stands went to the Department of Tourism of the Government of Karnataka (India), Japan (Japan National Tourism Organization) and the State of Guerrero (Mexico).
The event took place this Monday at Feria de Madrid and was presided over by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel María Oliver, together with the presence of the Secretary General of UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili; the Executive President of Ifema, Clemente González and the President of the Organising Committee of Fitur, Luis Gallego, among others.
These awards mean, in the words of Clemente González, "the recognition of the effort of professional companies and researchers to boost the image of the sector", the creation of new products that diversify the offer and contribute to "sustainable" development, as well as research to promote the evolution of this market from knowledge and analysis.
"It has been the largest and most international edition held to date, in 2019 has been singled out more than ever for its high professionalism, all accompanied by a high quality of content as a result of the effort and talent of Fitur participants," he said.
For his part, Luis Gallego has indicated that with these awards want to "recognize the work of the tourism industry that is exhibited in Fitur" and has conveyed his "congratulations to all the winners" for "continuing to work for the competitiveness of the industry.
PRIZEWINNERS
In this edition, the prizes for the best stands went to the category of Institutions and Autonomous Communities, for the Canary Islands, Tourist Navarre and Catalonia. In the case of countries and regions, the winners were the tourism department of Karnataka, the National Tourism Organisation of Japan and the State of Guerrero. In the category of companies, the winners were Palladium Hotel Group, NH Hotel Group and Sixt rent a Car.
