Kinepolis consolidates its commitment to the Valencian Community with the acquisition of the Alzira multiplexes, which from tomorrow, Friday, will be completely integrated into the group and will function as a Kinepolis complex, becoming the seventh at national level and the third in the Community after Paterna and Alicante.
Located in a commercial area of the capital of La Ribera, Kinépolis Alzira has a total of ten rooms, all equipped with Dolby 5.1 sound, and receives more than 300,000 visitors a year. Javier Vivó, head of integration at Kinépolis, points out that "our arrival in Alzira means broadening the cultural and leisure offer of the region. From now on, our spectators will be able to enjoy, in addition to the most awaited cinema premieres, new live content such as monologues, hypnotism sessions or musical events that are being a success in other Kinepolis complexes".
Indeed, within its process of change, Kinépolis Alzira will have a cultural and leisure offer that will go beyond screenings. Likewise, and progressively, the facilities will be improved.
Kinepolis Group NV was founded in 1997 as a result of the merger of two family cinema chains and was already listed on the stock exchange in 1998. In addition to its cinema activity, the group also works in film distribution, event organisation, screen advertising and real estate. In Europe, Kinepolis Group NV has 53 cinemas in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Poland. Since the acquisition of the Canadian cinema group Landmark Cinemas in December 2017, Kinepolis has added 45 cinemas in Canada.
Currently, Kinepolis' portfolio includes 98 cinemas worldwide (of which 45 are owned), which translates into 886 screens and more than 175,000 seats. Including the Canadian organization, Kinepolis now has 3,800 employees.
