The Meetings Show UK has commissioned independent, detailed research into the many different sectors of the meetings industry. The results will combine long-term benefits to the industry with the provision of insight and information that will shape The Meetings Show UK’s education programme.
The research will pinpoint the topics of interest to key visitor sectors and ensure the education programme delivers compelling content, specific to these visitor types.
The Meetings Show UK event director, Steve Knight, said: "At the inaugural Advisory Board and Education Panel meetings, it became clear an effective education programme should be tailored to the key delegate types, with detailed research providing the backbone of the content. Our decision to base our education content on professionally conducted research from both meeting planners and suppliers is a move which will set our education programme apart from every other show in the sector and is a clear sign we are serious about creating an unrivalled education platform for our industry."
Knight continues: "Education is a key ingredient in our show and not just an ’add-on’. This is reflected in the fact we are not holding sessions on the show floor but instead using professional conferencing facilities – the recently refurbished Olympia Conference Centre and The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre. The sessions will be timetabled around the key appointment times so they do not conflict with appointments made with exhibitors."
The research will be undertaken over the next few months and will be fed back to the Advisory Board and Education Panel in early 2013. The Advisory Board and Education Panel members have reacted well to the announcement:
The Meetings Show UK is the UK’s only hosted buyer led show for the meetings industry and will bring in more than 4,500 visitors, including 1,500 plus hosted buyers from corporates, agencies, associations, charities and the public sector. It’s a show organised by meeting professionals, for meeting professionals.
The Meetings Show UK’s inaugural event will take place during week commencing 8 July 2013 at Olympia, London.
