nfp events has announced a seminar programme with a focus on first-hand experience.

A brand new exhibition for non- profit events and conference professionals opens on the 25 September, with delegates being encouraged to learn from the in-depth experience of sector experts via a free seminar programme.

nfp events is the latest concept from Conference House, leaders in the non-profit exhibition market. The show responds to a growing awareness in the sector of the potential of events to attract and retain constituents and generate additional income.

Delegates attending nfp events will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from charities that have road tested new event management tools and techniques and can give an accurate account of the pros and cons from their own experience. Visitors can also benefit from the advice of suppliers and consultants who know their industry inside out.

Seminars already proving popular include Charity Challenge’s advice on how to minimise events risk, the Methodist Church’s account of how they doubled their audience through webcasting, advice on how to monetise hybrid events from industry guru Richard John, and an assessment of the potential of near field technology from sponsor Smart AV.

Smart AV are leading international providers of sustainable audio-visual and multi touch technology hire. They are joined in sponsoring the exhibition by amiando, award winning innovators of online ticketing and registration technology.

Delegates can also benefit from sister show nfp technology, which will run concurrently on the same day and in the same venue. Delegates may build their own seminar schedule across both shows in order to join up their thinking between front end event management and back office technology support.

With a predicted footfall of up to 400 visitors, exhibitors at the show are gearing up to showcase their products and services to the not for profit sector – which represents 40% of the UK domestic events and conference market.

Michael Webb, exhibition director, is keen to present a realistic picture of the modern events sector to delegates. "As charities and associations look for new ways to boost income many are venturing into the events arena," he explains. "This can be a complex area in terms of generating a healthy return – especially for organisations that are new to the discipline. By enabling delegates to discover what works and what doesn’t, we equip them to make decisions that will ensure they invest their resources wisely."

nfp events takes place on 25 September at the Business Design Centre, Islington. Delegates attend free and are encouraged to secure their place quickly by registering online at www.nfpevents.org.uk.
