Since 2005, GCB has awarded two Wild Cards every year to German organisations and companies that focus on events in their own country.

Two marketing organisations have won the Wild Card of the German Convention Bureau (GCB) for IMEX 2012 trade fair: Tourismus und Stadtmarketing Husum GmbH (TSMH) and Regensburg Tourismus GmbH (RTG) convinced the jury with their destination marketing concepts. In return, they will receive free exhibition space at the Germany stand under the GCB’s umbrella at the international trade fair of the meetings and conventions industry. IMEX – incorporating Meetings made in Germany – the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events will take place from 22 to 24 May 2012 in Hall 8 of Messe Frankfurt.

"The new wild card winners set a good example of how destinations can establish themselves successfully on the events market with tailor-made concepts: As favoured by the GCB’s "fields of expertise" strategy, they are using local key technologies and sciences to market their destination and event venues in a targeted manner. Over the past few years local businesses and scientific institutions have become increasingly important for event destinations," explained Matthias Schultze, managing director of GCB.

Since 2005, GCB has awarded two Wild Cards every year to German organisations and companies that focus on events in their own country. Only candidates who have never taken part in a trade fair for the industry may apply. In addition, they must be new on the German MICE market or offer a new, innovative product for conventions and events.
