The Coliseo Albia building, formerly the Opera of Bilbao where such illustrious figures of Bel Canto as Maria Callas, Alfredo Kraus, Placido Domingo or Luciano Pavarotti performed, now houses the 4-star Sercotel Coliseo and the Bilbao Grand Casino. Declared a municipal heritage site, the building was completely renovated in 2011, while preserving its two impressive façades dating from 1916, contrasting with the modern style of the property’s 97 well appointed guest rooms.

The hotel is excellently located in Bilbao’s commercial and financial centre, next to the Campos Eliseos Theatre and the country’s best known shopping centres, only five minutes away from the historic centre and 10 minutes from the Guggenheim Museum, the Euskalduna Congress Centre and Concert Hall, and the Fine Arts Museum.
