The FAD is an independent institution founded in 1903 by Barcelona’s cultural avant-garde with the purpose of promoting the decorative arts. Since 1999, the FAD is located in the Convent dels Àngels, a 16th-century gothic building with a rich and intense history.

In parallel to its cultural programme, the FAD offers the possibility of staging any type of event in its unique venues in the centre of Barcelona, which combine the beauty of old stone walls, with nearly 500 years of history, with modern, well-equipped facilities.
