Over 400 Spanish and Latin American nurses met in Burgos for the 4th International Congress and 10th National Congress of the Community Nursing Association (AEC), held in collaboration with Burgos City Council, Burgos Convention Centre, Burgos Provincial Government, and the Nursing College of Burgos.
From 5-7 October 2016, over 450 professionals specializing in nursing and other medical fields, social workers, journalists, sociologists, and politicians participated in the congress, which was held in parallel to the 4th National Meetings of Family and Community Nursing Tutors and Residents.
Held at Forum Evolucion under the title “Community health and nursing, the same reality from different viewpoints”, the congress’ agenda included the analysis of a number of public health issues.
The format of this congress is different from that of conventional ones inasmuch as it has a more novel structure whose aim is to search for a new concept of scientific, professional and community debate in which the participants take centre stage, instead of remaining mere passive subjects, discussing the different opinions of people who, on many occasions, see health from the point of view of the patient.
The organizers of the AEC’s national congress, which is held every two years, choose Burgos because of the possibilities it offers to combine business with pleasure in a very dynamic way.
