It thus becomes the first hotel to receive the 23 youngsters selected to participate in the new sports development programme organized by the Spanish Football League and sponsored by the Pepsi Academy.
The training programme developed by the Spanish Football League and Pepsi Egypt has just got underway in Spain. After a lengthy training and evaluation process carried out by LaLiga Academy Development, including demanding football trials and personal interviews, representatives of LaLiga and the Pepsi Academy named in Cairo (Egypt) the 23 players selected to take part in the development and immersion programme in Spain. The group comprising teenagers aged from 15-19 and three trainers from the Pepsi Academy arrived in Malaga a couple of weeks ago. The PYR Marbella Hotel (Puerto Banus) was the property chosen to accommodate the group of young players who will be training at the Marbella Football Center for four weeks.
In addition to providing accommodation, the PYR Marbella Hotel is responsible for preparing the players’ food, based on a set of guidelines developed by the group’s nutritionist. The players can also use the hotel’s massage rooms, meeting room and spacious gardens for stretching sessions.
Over the next month, the young players will participate in a full programme of activities that will give them the opportunity to enrich their lives as people and football players, thanks to this experience abroad. The aim of the programme is to allow the players to widen their knowledge of football under the supervision of LaLiga specialists, combining matches against top Spanish teams with educational and sports-related activities.
The training plan includes double sessions six days a week, supervised by trainers belonging to the Andalusian Football Federation, and matches against several Andalusian teams of the same level. The first match was played last Wednesday against Malaga FC, which will be followed by others against Sevilla FC, Real Betis, Cadiz and Granada. Likewise, the members of the Pepsi Academy delegation will be able to attend several matched of the BBVA League, as well as a number of cultural activities.
