IFEMA and SERNAUTO present in Frankfurt the 15th edition of MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID

Madrid, 12 September 2018.- Within the setting of Automechanika Frankfurt —which is being held in the German city—, this morning was the Presentation of the 15th edition of MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID, organised by IFEMA to be held from the 13 to 16 March 2019, at Feria de Madrid.

During the event, organised jointly between IFEMA and SERNAUTO (Spanish Association of Automotive Industry Suppliers), David Moneo, Head of the IFEMA Mobility area, presented the main news on the upcoming edition of MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID and he announced that the President of the Spare Parts Commission and member of the Governing Board of SERNAUTO, Benito Tesier, will continue as President of the Organising Committee.

As explained by David Moneo, MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID has become consolidated as the third Automechanika in the world, with its own personality, as confirmed by the participation data achieved only two months after marketing began. 70% of the surface area of the previous edition has already been reserved, and there are also 20% more exhibitors and 22% reservations from foreign companies. Moneo pointed out that “the permanent support from SERNAUTO is a large contributing factor in positioning the Trade Fair”.

The Director of MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID took the occasion to advance some of the new aspects of the upcoming edition, such as the creation of the brand Motortruck, with a separate presence of industrial vehicles, to cover the specific needs of this huge sector. There will also be a larger presence of tires, with the first edition of the HEVEA Awards for the Tire Industry, which will include the main tire shop networks, or workshop Talent, the first Awards for Innovative Shop, in order to attract young talent to the shop networks, start-up entrepreneurship, and good practices developed by the major post-sales professionals in Spain and Portugal.

As well, according to Moneo, “we are working on digitising MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID, with initiatives such as a new website, the Motortec community blog, better collaboration and communication among exhibitors and digital marketing campaigns to attract visitors from Southern Europe and Northern Africa; as well as further integration of the Portuguese market”, among other initiatives.

Benito Tesier said: «It is an honour for me to continue as President of the Organising Committee for MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID, our fair, a trade fair with increasingly higher numbers of exhibiting companies, which shows a commitment to innovation, professionalism and quality in the post-sales sector».

MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID 2017 established itself as the main post-sales commercial platform for the automotive industry in Southern Europe, and in 2019 it is expected to be as successful, if not more. In the words of Benito Tesier, «we have all the underpinnings in place: a qualified and involved Ifema Motor team, led by David Moneo; an Organising Committee comprised of professionals from the highest level of industry companies and associations; and, of course, all of you, many of whom are exhibitors, and you are the ones who make the fair a true showcase of what we are, of our technological capabilities and the contribution that post-sales makes to the Spanish economy and society.

As in each edition, we will see the latest in spare parts and accessories: garage and shop equipment; components for industrial vehicles; bodywork and paint; audio systems; lubricants; tires; service stations and oil companies; automotive technology and services.... A huge offering that shows the extraordinary value chain of Spanish post-sales. “Made in Spain” products, which are highly valued internationally».

Benito Tesier also highlighted the role of Spanish suppliers worldwide, as they are renowned for their large international presence and their strong commitment to R+D+i, investing over 4% per year to continue at the forefront of technology. The Spanish industry of automotive equipment and components is present on the five continents and exports to over 170 countries, with Germany as one of its main destinations.

At Automechanika Frankfurt, SERNAUTO has organised the Spanish Group Hall, in collaboration with ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, and this year it is 13% larger than in 2016, placing the Spanish Brand as one of the Fair’s largest national halls.

Both David Moneo and Benito Tesier encouraged companies to register for the next edition of MOTORTEC AUTOMECHANIKA MADRID and to take advantage of all the business and promotion opportunities that the Trade Fair will provide.
